Welcome to Sherry Drake's new web site. We will be adding to it so that you can find where Sherry is performing, and send her a message if you like.

There is something comforting about tunes from the great American popular music songbook; the collective memories they conjure up, the security of a recognizable melody, and the associations we make in time and space.

With her rich and long background in the vocal tradition, St. Louisan Sherry Drake is as fine an interpreter of mainstream popular music and jazz as any singer in the midwest. Offering considerable ear appeal, Sherry has performed throughout the United States, including engagements in Las Vegas, Reno, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Oh! - add Canada and Mexico to the list...

With her vocal quality and range to match, Sherry is at ease with any type of song. She gets involved and has the talent of projecting to her audience. "Her breathless pace is remarkable, as is her originality and avoidance of sounding like other bar-room chanteuses", says Ross Gentile of WSIE jazz radio, 88.7FM.

Sherry Drake CD - About LoveSherry's first CD, "About Love" (playing below), was released in 2005, most certainly the first of many to come. Ray Kennedy, internationally known as John Pizzarelli's pianist, produced the CD. Ray is featured on the CD, as is Harry Allen, internationally known Tenor Sax artist. Sherry is also featured on the newly released Keith Ellis and the Sessions Big Band CD entitled "Softly as in a Morning Sunrise/Tribute". Sherry croons and scats the standards “It Could Happen to You”, “But Beautiful”, and “There Will Never Be Another You” on this CD.

All of Sherry's current upcoming gigs are private events. Any future club dates will be posted here, so keep checking back.

Sherry can be reached by calling 636.225.1127.
